Plugins
See the plugins your organisation turned on, what their status means, and fill in the values only you can provide
Preview. Plugins are a preview feature.
A plugin gives the AI agent extra tools, for example to look things up in a business application your organisation uses. Your organisation chooses which plugins are available. Some plugins need a value only you can provide, such as your own access key or your company's server address, and you enter it in Settings > Plugins.
Technically, each plugin runs an MCP server (a small program that offers tools to AI agents in a standard way). Levee runs it outside the sandbox and connects the agent to it.
Where do I see my plugins?
Open Settings at the bottom of the sidebar and find the Plugins card. It lists every plugin your organisation turned on, with its name, version and status. If there are none, it reads "No plugins available."
What does each status mean?
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
ready | The plugin is installed and has everything it needs. A Claude Code agent can use it; Codex CLI does not load plugins. |
downloading | Levee is still downloading the plugin. |
needs setup | A required value is missing. If it is one of yours, fill it in below the plugin. Otherwise your organisation has not finished setting it up. |
needs Levee update | The plugin needs a newer version of Levee. |
unavailable | The plugin cannot be used right now. Levee keeps trying. |
revoked | Your organisation removed the plugin. |
Only ready plugins are offered to the agent.
Why can't I enter values?
Instead of a form, a plugin may show one of these messages:
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Values can be set once the plugin has downloaded. | Wait for the download to finish. |
| This plugin was removed by your organization. | Nothing to do. |
| Update Levee to use this plugin. | Ask your IT team to update Levee. |
| This plugin is unavailable right now. | Try again later. If it persists, contact your IT team. |
| Your organization has not finished setting up this plugin. | Your IT team must provide a value. You have nothing to fill in. |
| This plugin has no settings. | The plugin needs nothing from you. |
How do I fill in my values?
- Find the plugin in Settings > Plugins.
- Type a value in each field. Each field is labelled with the name the plugin gives it; fields marked required must be filled in. Secret values are hidden as you type.
- Click Save.
Levee checks every value before storing anything. If one is wrong, nothing is saved and the field shows why, for example "name is required", "name must be a number", or "name must match pattern". A field that expects a server address shows the allowed pattern as a hint, and only addresses that match it are accepted.
Once saved, a field shows set. Levee never shows a stored value again, not even to you.
- To change a value, click Replace, type the new one, and click Save. Cancel keeps the old one.
- To remove a value, click Clear.
Who can change stored values?
Plugin values apply to the whole computer, not to one project or one person. The first person who saves values for a plugin owns them:
- Other users of the computer cannot change or clear them. They see "user values for this plugin belong to another user".
- Only the owner, or an administrator who opened Levee with administrator rights, sees which fields are set.
- An administrator who opened Levee with administrator rights can replace the values. The owner stays the same.
- When every value of a plugin is cleared, nobody owns it any more, and the next person to save becomes the owner.
For your IT team
- Administrators choose plugins in the organisation's policy. See Plugins.
- The Plugins card lists only plugins from the cloud policy. Plugins imported on the computer by an administrator are not listed.
- Levee runs plugins only when the
mcpcomponent is turned on in policy (proxies.mcp.enabled). - User values are encrypted on the computer (Windows DPAPI) in
%ProgramData%\Vediram\Levee\plugins\cloud\<pluginId>\user-values.dpapi, with the owner recorded inuser-values.ownernext to it. That folder is readable only by SYSTEM and administrators. The app never shows a stored value.
